PAN SHOT, sitting on couch, look over to right, CALEB, with boy scout uniform on, is watching with a grin. Glancing over Tom & Jerry playing on TV, and EMANUEL, with cub scout uniform, laying asleep on the floor, cast on his ARM. Look back at TV at Tom wining

INT SHED – PRESENT – CONTINUOUS

 

PAN, Shadow of HANGMAN moving back and forth, fast, on wall, INTERFRAME, BRIGHT LIGHT, covering the wall, quickly, no shadows

CLOSE UP on WINDOW and shadows of tree movements, PAN, looking around room the outside movement match the inside movements  

 

DEBORAH (O.S.)whisper

                                                Get up

 

CONTINIOUS

 

SWISH PAN, WINDOW, scrambling noise outside, look at WALL, BRIGHT LIGHT, Stood up, look at buster brown shoes, and shadow flew fast by the shoes

(POV.)PULL BACK, walking backwards, looks down, WOOL BLANKET, a DOLL, a CANDY, and white HAIR BARRETTE 

 

(POV)exiting the shed, the light went off, SHADOWS growing BIGGER everywhere, turn body, RUN

 

 

EXT. BACKDOOR – CONTINUOUS

 

Turn doorknob, light filled eyes. A chandelier was sparkling. SHADOW moving by chandelier out the room

EXT. INSIDE HOUSE – CONTINUOUS

 

Closing door, and turn putting back on door. The SHADOW moving from the other room.

HANDS slamming hard into each other, moving faster, misty playground in b.g., INTERFRAME, one pair of HANDS, BLEEDING as the hands touch other hand. Speed up the hand game, moving to fast for sight.

DEBORAH(POV), EMANUEL, Deborah little brother by a couple years, underneath the coffee table, looking up, a cast on the arm with a FINGER pointing upwards.

PAN, Deborah looking upward on the roof THREE SHADOWS on the roof moving wildly.

PAN SHOT, head turns toward CALEB, Deborah older brother by a couple years, sitting on the floor, clinching his fist

Looking upwards the shadows beginning to move violently in other spaces in the room.  Looking down at EMANUEL, his eyes started tearing up as his mouth open.

DEBORAH (POV), INTERFRAME, CALEB jumps up and EMANUEL followed.

SIX LEGS, took off, pair in different directions.

INT. BACKROOM – EVENING

 

SWISH PAN(POV.) in the room a CLOSET left open, right a set of BUNK BEDS, sliding under the BED grabbing a wool BLANKET off the bottom bunk.

PAN, look around the room, DARK SHADOW enters the room from the window.

Change in lighting, SHADOW producing a WAVE, a black ocean in the middle of the floor going out the room, b.g. grasping for air

Lighting changing, HANGMAN SHADOW appearing in the middle of the floor, PULLS BACK to include wave, going out door

 

lighting shifting, the WAVE getting dark with a movement of SEALS line up all the way out the door.

DEBORAH, PAN, shakes left and right, vision Side ways, Hangman swift its head, UP, HEAD out of the floor, like a four legged animal, but body turn upside down.

TRACKING SHOT - Trap LEG, holding to it was a DARK SHADOWY HANGMAN, barely visible.

WAVE of DARK SHADOWS of HANGMEN, a trail out door

PAN, Deborah pulling wool BLANKET down more, HANGMAN NECKS neck begins to turn.

Twisting NECK completely around, FACE, LINE for both EYES AND MOUTH

TRACKING SHOT - HANGMAN FACE, TWO lines for EYES, now TWO lines for MOUTH, curve into a grin. Lighting change darker, SHADOWS grew on the wall

 

DEBORAH PAN, HANGMAN, reaching towards her, SHADOWS in room starting to move, rapid. FLOOR turn dark, hiding shadows under floor

TRACKING SHOT – HANGMAN, EYES are the shape of V’s and MOUTH upside down V. DARKNESS at the waist of HANGMAN, pulling it back in the floor.

 

PAN, SHADOWS on the wall wiping away by brightness, a light from outside, bring INTERFRAME ARM, covered in sweat, HANGMAN only tip of HEAD reminds above, the darkness coming up to get HANGMAN by lighting on floor

DEBORAH (POV) Shadow of Two HANDS

 

CALEB (O.S.)

                                                Ash to ashes and dust to         dust

 

(POV) INTER FRAME a part of a SHADOW becomes Caleb’s HEAD, bending down, CALEB looks up and back down, picking up the PAPER.

Movement of the SHADOWS presents a PAIR of LITTLE BOY’S SHOES  and ONE of LITTLE GIRL

 

Caleb pulled out a LIGHTER from his HAND, flicking, INTER FRAME, Emanuel HANDS and HEAD, HANDS covering wind for LIGHTER, CALEB other hand has the PAPER

 

Caleb got a FLAME, PAPER burning quickly

            Hercules, Honey Bee, and Sherlock

            Holmes, Snack Time

(POV)EMANUEL and CALEB FACE, PULL BACK as they stood up. Looking down at the ashes

 

(POV)PUSH BACK, CALEB and EMANUEL running, sounds of her footsteps.

 

Looking back, the dark ashes lifting up in the wind, coming at camera

EXT. FRONT YARD – DAY – MONTHS LATER

 

DEBORAH (POV.),SWISH PAN, CALEB with a sword STICK pointing in face, STICK came back in Caleb FACE

enviable theme, of iniquity

 

DEBORAH (POV.)bring STICK down to finish the SAND DRAWING of HOPSCOTCH

            Thunder, thunder, thunder

            Cats!

 

PAN, glance up at CALEB as he pointed his STICK at the sky. Bring the STICK back in face.

            You kill my master now                                  (laughing)

            You must di-                           you can’t fool a fool, let

                                                            Me finish, first

 

Caleb STICK falling slowly out his HAND, to GROUND

DEBORAH (POV) back up at CALEB FACE, SHADOW growing behind him, CALEB LIP drop

DEBORAH(POV) turning, ARM coming up to cover the sunlight. Still blurriness, PAN, look towards the trees, on right side, a SHADOW in TREES, resembling a squirrels quarreling

PAN, looking back at CALEB, FACE, confuse, on ground I could see THREE SHADOWS

DEBORAH (POV), PAN, turning around to see SHADOWS, SWISH PAN, (ghostly) Ghost looking LITTLE GIRL in the MIDDLE of a ghost looking WOLF on one side on other side of her a ghostly PIG.

DEBORAH (POV), ghostly PIG, moving violently, PULL FOCUS, HANDCUFF. LITTLE GIRL handcuff to both, one on each side. her FACE turn towards the PIG, she sitting, Indian style, floating.

DEBORAH (POV)PIG HEAD, turns from the little girl, PIG FULL FACE, EYES sewed shut, SMOKE coming out NOSE, pig turns back to little girl, PIG EAR, slinky of earrings

 

SWISH PAN, WOLF, turning opposite from little girl, towards a DARK MIST beside it.

SWISH PAN, PIG leaps on little girl, LITTLE GIRL sinks into DIRT CLOUD under them. WOLF turns snapping at PIG. Pig movement swift quick robot effect

SWISH PAN, LITTLE GIRL ARM comes up grabs PIG HOOF, WOLF bites at PIG ear. PIG let out a sound, echoes of boars

DEBORAH (POV) PAN, turn quick to glance again in disbelief, PIG jumping on WOLF, moving hooves side to side, violently. CLOUD building around WOLF, SMOKE filling the air.

Ten! Ready or not here I come

INT. SHED - NIGHT
The SHADOW moves from over the light source, a dark
resemblance of a hangman.
Sounds of arms popping, DEBORAH arms gives out, head hitting
the ground hard.
CUT TO:
FLASHBACK - EARLIER THAT DAY
EXT. SHED
DEBORAH LEGS dangling from tree limb.
A SHADOW falling in front of her with a loud THUMP.
DEBORAH begins to climb out the tree.
In the background a child crying.
AMOS
(laughing)
Its bite is bigger than its bark.
You can’t hang.
DEBORAH FEET planted on the ground.
She’s looks at the tree to the sky a dark cloud coming in.
The sun was beginning to get covered up.
BACK TO:
INT. SHED - NIGHT
The HANGMAN, a dark shadow on the wall

YOUNG DEBORAH (O.S.)
(muffling)
I’m scared
The black HANGMAN on the wall stretching out its ARMS, this
causing her to blink
YOUNG DEBORAH (O.S.) (CONT’D)
(whispering)
Momma
The HANGMAN head and arms into the darkness of the wall,
stick LEGS against the corner of the wall, ready to push off.
The background a heartbeat getting louder.
A blink coming into the opening of a light going across the
wall with full vision of the shadow of a HANGMAN on the wall,
arms straight forward.
The shadow of the hangman leaps to the other side, head
diving first.
She looks over towards the window to find the light source.
SHADOWS of trees blowing by the window, a thin light coming
from outside the shed
DEBORAH OLDER (O.S.)
Move, RUN!
The HANGMAN leaps back to other side, smashing into the
corner
MATCH CUT TO:
FLASHBACK - EARLIER THAT DAY
JERRY the mouse of Tom & Jerry, smashing into the wall on the
television set.
Deborah notice someone on the couch to my right...
CALEB, my oldest brother, now a fifth grader, with his boy
scout uniform on, grinning as he watched the show.
Deborah notice someone on the floor...

EMANUEL, the youngest of the three, was the happiest first
grader in the world, laying asleep on the floor in his cub
scout uniform, a cast on his ARM.
Deborah looked back at the television, and TOM the cat was
wining as he ran towards the wall of the cartoon. TOM
starting looking backwards and run right smack into the wall
MATCH CUT TO:
INT. SHED - NIGHT
The shadow of the HANGMAN doing the same as TOM into the
wall. It’s movement turn crazed, wobbling back and forth on
the wall.
Disappearing instantly with a jump out the window.
Deborah look towards the window...
YOUNG DEBORAH
(inter thought)
The shadow was outside, but where?
DEBORAH OLDER (O.S.)
Get up!
DEBORAH stood up.
Scrambling noise heard outside the window.
She looks down as shadows flew fast by her buster brown
shoes.
Walking backwards to the door, eyes focusing on the whole
room for evidence of anything else in there.
The WOOL blanket had a DOLL, some CANDY, and a white hair
BARRETTE on it, nothing else in view but darkness
Deborah begins to run...
EXT. SHED - NIGHT
Out the shed into more darkness, shadows growing bigger
behind Deborah, breathing getting heavier
Touching the back door knob, light filled the whole area

A chandelier was sparkling creating many lights, no shadows
in this room
INT. INSIDE HOUSE
Deborah close the door and turning put back to door
A shadow moving from the other room towards the opening of
the den
MOTHER (O.C.)
Honey Bee?
The shadow moving closer
YOUNG DEBORAH (O.C.)
Yes, ma’am
Looking down at the buster browns as they start to move
towards the shadow
FADE TO BLACK.

In a fog ghostly girl hands, playing a hand game
YOUNG DEBORAH (O.C.)
(singing)
Twill lil lee, twill lil lee, twill
lil lee, twill lil lee, tweet baby

Sounds of school bell as the ghostly little girls hands move
faster.
YOUNG DEBORAH (O.C.) (CONT’D)
(singing)
She rocks in the tree top all day
long, huffing and a puffing and a
singing that song...
The fog getting darker as the hands slam into each other, to
fast for the eyes, a misty playground in background

The hands just stop in movement, a ghostly appearance of a
high five
FADE TO:
INT. DEN - AFTERNOON
Deborah looking at Emanuel, underneath the coffee table,
looking up, a cast on the arm with a FINGER pointing upwards.
EMANUEL
(surprise)

Deborah opens them.
A foggy wolf and a ghostly pig.
They were chain together by some source of handcuffs. One on
each side of little girl.
Her face turn towards the pig as she sat Indian style,
floating above the ground.
Pig movement violently, creating a confusion of a sand storm.
The pig dark and cloudy, turns toward the Wolf.
The pig eyes sewed shut with something shiny.
Smoke coming out the pig nose.
The pig mixed in with the sand and leaps on little girl.
Snarling towards the wolf
The little girl maybe five, sinks into the sand storm growing
under the pig.
The foggy wolf snaps at the pig. The quick movement in
effects of a robot.
The little girl ghostly arms comes out the mist and grabs at
the hooves of the pig.
The wolf, the appeal of a crazed foggy dog.
The right paws raises and goes straight threw the pig.
The sound of boars echoing into the air.

Deborah laid on her side in a mist of darkness, the dim light

fright.
Deborah begins to moan from the fall.

The man nose was burning slowly at the tip, Deborah saw a red

The dirt storm moved back down and a top hat could be seen,
steam coming from the top.

underneath the eye.
His eyes closed and the wind zoomed him, quickly pass the

Deborah drop down to a squat and what was left in her stomach
