Going back to the beginning when God created heaven and earth, music is one way that the angels worshiped Him. Music always find ways to make you feel good and relaxes your mind and body. When you are having a bad day, music can make you feel good about yourself and turn the rest of your day into positive.
Not all music is positive. When you listen to gospel music, it motivates you to praise God and also ignore any negative situations in your life. That is what SoJo Ministries are currently doing; they are husband and wife team ministering through songs, testimonies and the Most High.
Before Joe Yancey met his wife, he was a musician and a singer from Wilmington, Delaware. While he was searching for his companion, God revealed his wife’s name in a dream to him and brought them together. They got married 12 years ago and decided to start a gospel music ministry together. Even though Joe was a musician, he did not realize that the woman God revealed to him also sings and had a plan to become a gospel singer in the future.
Prior to Mr. Yancey becoming a musician, he was learning how to play music since the age of 8 years and Sophia played the piano until she was 13 and decided to focus on her singing.
Since they have been married, their SoJo Ministry diverse style reaches all ethnic backgrounds, generations, touching hearts, minds and souls with uplifting songs being inspired from personal experiences as a person and also walking the narrow road to eternity as a couple married in the Lord.
The Yanceys have had years of experience in gospel music ministry including producing, recruiting, guiding several musicians and Christian Singers/Band. The kind of original songs they write and compose are Urban Contemporary, Worship, Christian R&B and Christian Contemporary.
One of the purposes of SoJo Ministries is that their music touches couples that are married and some of the things they are going through in life. Their ministry also encourages anyone that wants to be successful to have faith that He can come through. As they grow their ministry, they want to continue to reach out to everyone, nations and all backgrounds.
“I want to inspire and encourage everyone reading this story that if you trust in God and His commandments, everything will work out for you. People should always rejoice in the Lord and He is worthy to be praised no matter what we are going through,” Joe Yancey said.
According to SoJo Ministries, “their steps are ordered by the Lord to do His will and minister by reaching out to all nations.”
“Give up to everyone and we serve a living God. Also, there is nothing impossible for God to do.” Sophia Yancey said.
Joe is currently working full time in the field of transportation while Sophia is in marketing and they have three children – Brittany, Josiah and Brianna.
As SoJo Ministries is using their musical talents to inspire others, they will also start to conduct speaking engagements at ministry groups, churches and conferences. They are also set to release their first single entitled “Rejoice” soon.
As you continue to read this article, please pray for them as they walk together in their calling and saving lives of millions.
